Barangay Balingcanaway

Barangay Balingcanaway is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Rosales, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balingcanaway had a population of 2,389. This made it the 9th largest of 37 barangays in Rosales by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balingcanaway accounted for approximately 3.58% of the total population of Rosales, which stood at 66,711 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,004 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,389 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +19.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balingcanaway as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rosales is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balingcanaway, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Balingcanaway ranks 484th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
