Barangay Calanutan

Barangay Calanutan is a small barangay in the municipality of Rosales, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calanutan had a population of 1,292. This made it the 24th largest of 37 barangays in Rosales by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calanutan accounted for approximately 1.94% of the total population of Rosales, which stood at 66,711 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Calanutan moving from 1,290 residents to 1,292 residents, an intercensal change of +0.2%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Calanutan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rosales is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calanutan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
