Barangay Ligaya

Barangay Ligaya is a small barangay in the municipality of Rosario, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ligaya had a population of 814. This made it the 7th largest of 11 barangays in Rosario by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ligaya accounted for approximately 7.43% of the total population of Rosario, which stood at 10,949 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Ligaya moving from 750 residents to 814 residents, an intercensal change of +8.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Ligaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rosario is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ligaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
