Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Rosario in Northern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 935. This made it the 5th largest of 11 barangays in Rosario by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 8.54% of the total population of Rosario, which stood at 10,949 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 997 residents to 935 residents, an intercensal change of -6.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rosario is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
