Barangay Claudio Salgado

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Claudio Salgado is one of the administrative divisions of Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Claudio Salgado had a population of 4,679. This made it the 8th largest of 22 barangays in Sablayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Claudio Salgado accounted for approximately 5.05% of the total population of Sablayan, which stood at 92,598 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,278 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,679 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Claudio Salgado as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sablayan is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Claudio Salgado, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Occidental Mindoro, which contains 164 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Claudio Salgado ranks 30th by 2020 population.
