Barangay Carnaga

Barangay Carnaga is a small barangay in the municipality of Saint Bernard, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Carnaga had a population of 923. This made it the 14th largest of 30 barangays in Saint Bernard by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Carnaga accounted for approximately 3.25% of the total population of Saint Bernard, which stood at 28,414 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Carnaga moving from 916 residents to 923 residents, an intercensal change of +0.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Carnaga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Saint Bernard is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Carnaga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
