Barangay Salvacion

Barangay Salvacion forms part of San Agustin, a municipality in Surigao Del Sur, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

This made it the 3rd largest of 13 barangays in San Agustin by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Salvacion changed from 2,493 to 2,476, a shift of -0.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in San Agustin. Barangay Salvacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Agustin is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 76th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
