Barangay San Juan

Barangay San Juan is a small barangay in the municipality of San Benito, located in the province of Surigao Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Juan had a population of 750. This made it the 3rd largest of 6 barangays in San Benito by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Juan accounted for approximately 13.24% of the total population of San Benito, which stood at 5,663 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 678 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 750 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Juan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Benito is a municipality comprising 6 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Juan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
