Barangay Poblacion Ilaya

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion Ilaya is one of the administrative divisions of San Enrique in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion Ilaya had a population of 1,201. This made it the 16th largest of 28 barangays in San Enrique by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya accounted for approximately 3.25% of the total population of San Enrique, which stood at 36,911 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya changed from 1,238 to 1,201, a shift of -3.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in San Enrique. Barangay Poblacion Ilaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Enrique is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
