Barangay Cabaroan

Situated in San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Cabaroan is one of 10 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cabaroan had a population of 882. This made it the 4th largest of 10 barangays in San Esteban by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabaroan accounted for approximately 10.52% of the total population of San Esteban, which stood at 8,381 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 867 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 882 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.7%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cabaroan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Esteban is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabaroan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
