Barangay Northern Poblacion

Situated in San Francisco, Cebu, Barangay Northern Poblacion is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Northern Poblacion had a population of 5,334. This made it the 5th largest of 15 barangays in San Francisco by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Northern Poblacion accounted for approximately 9.00% of the total population of San Francisco, which stood at 59,236 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,786 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,334 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Northern Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Francisco is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Northern Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
