Barangay 2 (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay 2 (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of San Francisco in Agusan Del Sur, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 2 (Pob.) had a population of 2,492. This made it the 15th largest of 27 barangays in San Francisco by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 2 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.09% of the total population of San Francisco, which stood at 80,760 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay 2 (Pob.) changed from 2,506 to 2,492, a shift of -0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in San Francisco. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 2 (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Francisco is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 2 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Agusan Del Sur, which contains 314 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay 2 (Pob.) ranks 92nd by 2020 population. Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay 2 (Pob.) is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
