Barangay Upig

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Upig is one of the administrative divisions of San Ildefonso in Bulacan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Upig had a population of 2,729. This made it the 19th largest of 36 barangays in San Ildefonso by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Upig accounted for approximately 2.36% of the total population of San Ildefonso, which stood at 115,713 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Upig moving from 2,524 residents to 2,729 residents, an intercensal change of +8.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Upig is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Ildefonso is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upig, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
