Barangay Jagna-an

Situated in San Jacinto, Masbate, Barangay Jagna-an is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Jagna-an had a population of 1,006. This made it the 12th largest of 21 barangays in San Jacinto by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Jagna-an accounted for approximately 3.39% of the total population of San Jacinto, which stood at 29,686 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,270 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,006 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -20.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Jagna-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Jacinto is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Jagna-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
