Barangay Baybay

Barangay Baybay is a small barangay in the municipality of San Joaquin, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Baybay had a population of 961. This made it the 13th largest of 85 barangays in San Joaquin by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baybay accounted for approximately 1.83% of the total population of San Joaquin, which stood at 52,617 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Baybay moving from 816 residents to 961 residents, an intercensal change of +17.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Baybay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Joaquin is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Baybay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
