Barangay Banaybanay I

Barangay Banaybanay I is a large barangay in the municipality of San Jose, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Banaybanay I had a population of 6,371. This made it the 1st largest of 33 barangays in San Jose by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banaybanay I accounted for approximately 7.98% of the total population of San Jose, which stood at 79,868 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,418 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,371 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.7%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Banaybanay I is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Jose is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banaybanay I, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Banaybanay I ranks 67th by 2020 population.
