Barangay No. 5 Poblacion

Barangay No. 5 Poblacion forms part of San Julian, a municipality in Eastern Samar, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay No. 5 Poblacion had a population of 342. This made it the 15th largest of 16 barangays in San Julian by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay No. 5 Poblacion accounted for approximately 2.31% of the total population of San Julian, which stood at 14,800 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 381 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 342 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -10.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay No. 5 Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Julian is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay No. 5 Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
