Situated in San Luis, Batangas, Barangay Poblacion is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 2,327. This made it the 3rd largest of 26 barangays in San Luis by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 6.43% of the total population of San Luis, which stood at 36,172 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion changed from 2,230 to 2,327, a shift of +4.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in San Luis. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Luis is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion ranks 436th by 2020 population.
