Barangay Laperian

Barangay Laperian is a small barangay in the municipality of San Miguel, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Laperian had a population of 513. This made it the 17th largest of 18 barangays in San Miguel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Laperian accounted for approximately 2.59% of the total population of San Miguel, which stood at 19,838 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Laperian moving from 492 residents to 513 residents, an intercensal change of +4.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Laperian as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
