Barangay Camanhagay

Situated in San Sebastian, Samar, Barangay Camanhagay is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Camanhagay had a population of 794. This made it the 2nd largest of 14 barangays in San Sebastian by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camanhagay accounted for approximately 9.12% of the total population of San Sebastian, which stood at 8,704 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Camanhagay changed from 685 to 794, a shift of +15.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in San Sebastian. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Camanhagay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Sebastian is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Camanhagay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
