Barangay Lapu-lapu Pob. forms part of Santa Cruz, a municipality in Marinduque, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lapu-lapu Pob. had a population of 3,276. This made it the 1st largest of 55 barangays in Santa Cruz by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality.
