Barangay Aurora

Situated in Santa Josefa, Agusan Del Sur, Barangay Aurora is one of 11 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Aurora had a population of 2,969. This made it the 3rd largest of 11 barangays in Santa Josefa by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Aurora accounted for approximately 11.23% of the total population of Santa Josefa, which stood at 26,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,651 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,969 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +12.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Aurora is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Josefa is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Aurora, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Agusan Del Sur, which contains 314 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Aurora ranks 69th by 2020 population.
