Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Santa Josefa, Agusan Del Sur, Barangay Poblacion is one of 11 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 4,773. This made it the 1st largest of 11 barangays in Santa Josefa by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 18.06% of the total population of Santa Josefa, which stood at 26,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,962 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,773 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Santa Josefa is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
