Barangay Barangobong (Pob.)

Barangay Barangobong (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Lucia, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Barangobong (Pob.) had a population of 817. This made it the 14th largest of 36 barangays in Santa Lucia by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barangobong (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.15% of the total population of Santa Lucia, which stood at 25,966 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Barangobong (Pob.) changed from 1,064 to 817, a shift of -23.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Santa Lucia. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Barangobong (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
