Situated in Santa Maria, Laguna, Barangay Cueva is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cueva changed from 1,043 to 1,117, a shift of +7.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santa Maria. Barangay Cueva is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
