Barangay Paroyhog

Barangay Paroyhog is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Maria, located in the province of Romblon, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Paroyhog had a population of 725. This made it the 5th largest of 6 barangays in Santa Maria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paroyhog accounted for approximately 8.07% of the total population of Santa Maria, which stood at 8,989 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 701 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 725 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Paroyhog as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Maria is a municipality comprising 6 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paroyhog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Romblon, which contains 219 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Paroyhog ranks 170th by 2020 population.
