Barangay San Matias

Barangay San Matias is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Santa Rita, located in the province of Pampanga, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Matias had a population of 3,577. This made it the 6th largest of 10 barangays in Santa Rita by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Matias accounted for approximately 7.42% of the total population of Santa Rita, which stood at 48,209 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Matias moving from 3,312 residents to 3,577 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Matias as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
