Barangay Candamiang

Situated in Santander, Cebu, Barangay Candamiang is one of 10 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Candamiang had a population of 1,151. This made it the 9th largest of 10 barangays in Santander by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Candamiang accounted for approximately 6.21% of the total population of Santander, which stood at 18,527 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Candamiang changed from 1,023 to 1,151, a shift of +12.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santander. Barangay Candamiang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santander is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Candamiang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
