Barangay Ramot

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Ramot is one of the administrative divisions of Santol in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ramot had a population of 821. This made it the 10th largest of 11 barangays in Santol by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ramot accounted for approximately 5.80% of the total population of Santol, which stood at 14,166 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ramot changed from 728 to 821, a shift of +12.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santol. Barangay Ramot is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santol is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ramot, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ramot ranks 432nd by 2020 population.
