Barangay Santo Santiago

Barangay Santo Santiago is a small barangay in the municipality of Sarrat, located in the province of Ilocos Norte, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santo Santiago had a population of 775. This made it the 20th largest of 24 barangays in Sarrat by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Santiago accounted for approximately 3.08% of the total population of Sarrat, which stood at 25,186 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Santo Santiago changed from 725 to 775, a shift of +6.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Sarrat. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santo Santiago as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sarrat is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Santiago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
