Barangay Caticugan

Barangay Caticugan is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Siaton, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Caticugan had a population of 2,767. This made it the 13th largest of 26 barangays in Siaton by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caticugan accounted for approximately 3.33% of the total population of Siaton, which stood at 83,082 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caticugan moving from 2,473 residents to 2,767 residents, an intercensal change of +11.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Caticugan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Siaton is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Caticugan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
