Situated in Siaton, Negros Oriental, Barangay Malabuhan is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Malabuhan had a population of 3,622. This made it the 6th largest of 26 barangays in Siaton by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malabuhan accounted for approximately 4.36% of the total population of Siaton, which stood at 83,082 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malabuhan moving from 3,228 residents to 3,622 residents, an intercensal change of +12.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community.
