Barangay Kauswagan

Barangay Kauswagan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Sibagat, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kauswagan had a population of 328. This made it the 22nd largest of 24 barangays in Sibagat by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kauswagan accounted for approximately 0.97% of the total population of Sibagat, which stood at 33,957 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kauswagan moving from 338 residents to 328 residents, an intercensal change of -3.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kauswagan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
