Barangay Kolambugan

Situated in Sibagat, Agusan Del Sur, Barangay Kolambugan is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Kolambugan had a population of 2,102. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Sibagat by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kolambugan accounted for approximately 6.19% of the total population of Sibagat, which stood at 33,957 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Kolambugan changed from 1,974 to 2,102, a shift of +6.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Sibagat. Barangay Kolambugan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sibagat is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Kolambugan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Agusan Del Sur, which contains 314 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Kolambugan ranks 116th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
