Barangay Enrique Villanueva

Barangay Enrique Villanueva is a small barangay in the municipality of Sibulan, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Enrique Villanueva had a population of 856. This made it the 15th largest of 15 barangays in Sibulan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Enrique Villanueva accounted for approximately 1.33% of the total population of Sibulan, which stood at 64,343 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,330 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 856 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -35.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Enrique Villanueva as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sibulan is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Enrique Villanueva, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Enrique Villanueva ranks 491st by 2020 population.
