Barangay Bugsoc

Situated in Sierra Bullones, Bohol, Barangay Bugsoc is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bugsoc had a population of 2,843. This made it the 1st largest of 22 barangays in Sierra Bullones by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bugsoc accounted for approximately 10.89% of the total population of Sierra Bullones, which stood at 26,095 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,542 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,843 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bugsoc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sierra Bullones is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bugsoc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
