Barangay Yakal

Barangay Yakal is a large barangay in the municipality of Silang, located in the province of Cavite, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Yakal had a population of 7,047. This made it the 10th largest of 64 barangays in Silang by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Yakal accounted for approximately 2.38% of the total population of Silang, which stood at 295,644 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Yakal moving from 6,499 residents to 7,047 residents, an intercensal change of +8.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Yakal is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Silang is a municipality comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Yakal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
