Barangay Cabangtalan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Cabangtalan is one of the administrative divisions of Sinait in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cabangtalan had a population of 536. This made it the 19th largest of 44 barangays in Sinait by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabangtalan accounted for approximately 2.06% of the total population of Sinait, which stood at 25,998 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 513 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 536 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cabangtalan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sinait is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabangtalan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cabangtalan ranks 555th by 2020 population.
