Situated in Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte, Barangay Santa Maria is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Maria had a population of 3,446. This made it the 3rd largest of 26 barangays in Siocon by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality.
