Barangay Suhaile Arabi

Barangay Suhaile Arabi is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Siocon, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Norte, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Suhaile Arabi had a population of 2,533. This made it the 6th largest of 26 barangays in Siocon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Suhaile Arabi accounted for approximately 5.22% of the total population of Siocon, which stood at 48,524 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Suhaile Arabi changed from 2,482 to 2,533, a shift of +2.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Siocon. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Suhaile Arabi as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Siocon is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Suhaile Arabi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Norte, which contains 691 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Suhaile Arabi ranks 88th by 2020 population. Barangay Suhaile Arabi is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
