Barangay Butawanan

Situated in Siruma, Camarines Sur, Barangay Butawanan is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Butawanan had a population of 1,852. This made it the 3rd largest of 22 barangays in Siruma by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Butawanan accounted for approximately 9.54% of the total population of Siruma, which stood at 19,419 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,481 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,852 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +25.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Butawanan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Siruma is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Butawanan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
