Barangay Pio

Situated in Tabogon, Cebu, Barangay Pio is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pio had a population of 949. This made it the 20th largest of 25 barangays in Tabogon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pio accounted for approximately 2.29% of the total population of Tabogon, which stood at 41,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 814 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 949 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +16.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pio is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tabogon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pio, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pio ranks 888th by 2020 population.
