Situated in Talisay, Batangas, Barangay Aya is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Aya had a population of 6,703. This made it the 1st largest of 21 barangays in Talisay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Aya accounted for approximately 14.50% of the total population of Talisay, which stood at 46,238 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Aya changed from 6,215 to 6,703, a shift of +7.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Talisay. Barangay Aya is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Talisay is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Aya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Aya ranks 63rd by 2020 population. Barangay Aya is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
