Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Poblacion is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 9,315. This made it the 1st largest of 14 barangays in Talusan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 33.42% of the total population of Talusan, which stood at 27,873 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 9,919 residents to 9,315 residents, an intercensal change of -6.1%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Talusan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
