Barangay Sagay

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Sagay is one of the administrative divisions of Talusan in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sagay had a population of 1,543. This made it the 7th largest of 14 barangays in Talusan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sagay accounted for approximately 5.54% of the total population of Talusan, which stood at 27,873 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sagay moving from 1,720 residents to 1,543 residents, an intercensal change of -10.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Sagay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talusan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sagay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
