Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Tangalan in Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 1,529. This made it the 9th largest of 15 barangays in Tangalan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 6.45% of the total population of Tangalan, which stood at 23,704 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 1,516 residents to 1,529 residents, an intercensal change of +0.9%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
