Barangay Tamalagon

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Tamalagon is one of the administrative divisions of Tangalan in Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tamalagon had a population of 2,810. This made it the 2nd largest of 15 barangays in Tangalan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tamalagon accounted for approximately 11.85% of the total population of Tangalan, which stood at 23,704 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tamalagon moving from 2,609 residents to 2,810 residents, an intercensal change of +7.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tamalagon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tangalan is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tamalagon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
