Barangay Bubong

Situated in Tangcal, Lanao Del Norte, Barangay Bubong is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bubong had a population of 831. This made it the 6th largest of 18 barangays in Tangcal by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bubong accounted for approximately 5.17% of the total population of Tangcal, which stood at 16,075 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bubong changed from 790 to 831, a shift of +5.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tangcal. Barangay Bubong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tangcal is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bubong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Lanao Del Norte, which contains 506 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bubong ranks 328th by 2020 population.
