Barangay Balonga-as

Barangay Balonga-as is a very small barangay in the municipality of Tarangnan, located in the province of Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balonga-as had a population of 314. This made it the 31st largest of 41 barangays in Tarangnan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balonga-as accounted for approximately 1.22% of the total population of Tarangnan, which stood at 25,713 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balonga-as moving from 325 residents to 314 residents, an intercensal change of -3.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community.
