Barangay Binalayan

Situated in Tarangnan, Samar, Barangay Binalayan is one of 41 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Binalayan had a population of 261. This made it the 34th largest of 41 barangays in Tarangnan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binalayan accounted for approximately 1.02% of the total population of Tarangnan, which stood at 25,713 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 262 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 261 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.4%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Binalayan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
